Technology plays a key role in the work we do at SGT. We do this by continuing to invest in the latest technology and equipment so that our technicians can provide our customers with the most up to date and appropriate advice when it comes to motoring repairs. Not only does our diagnostic capability help us to offer efficient and accurate repairs, it also enables us to examine parts of the vehicle which cannot be done with the naked eye.
When a warning light appears on your car, it can be a little worrying. Without knowing exactly what the problem is, it’s hard to know whether you can safely drive your car or if you can make it home or to your destination from where you are. If this happens to you, we recommend you get in touch, or pop in straight away so that we can make sure that it’s nothing serious. Often, we have customers that call us over the phone to see if we can help them, but without properly determining where the problem is coming from, we can’t give accurate quotes or repairs.
With our advanced diagnostic equipment, our technicians can identify and solve the problem with your car. Your ECU unit is hooked up to every component within your engine bay and the electrics that run through your car. It controls and measures your fuel, your ignition, your speed, valve timing in your engine and temperatures. Most modern cars will also now have warning lights for tyres, ABS systems, airbags and oil too. Whilst you might simply need an oil change, a warning light could also signify that you need major repairs to your engine or your car is overheating. Once we can determine the problem, with your approval, we can get to work with the repairs. With There are literally hundreds of things it might be, so this technology enables us to accurately and quickly diagnose the problem.
In an ideal world, we’d love to be able to fix and repairs all cars instantly but when it comes to your car’s ECU unit, it becomes a little more complex, a bit like our brains!
With this in mind, our diagnostic test does not include repairs. However, once the test is complete, we will make detailed recommendations and price the work up accordingly, so you know exactly what to expect and how much it will cost. We’ll run through our findings with the quote so that you can make an informed decision about what you would like to do.
We know that every customer is different, so together we will find a solution to get your car up and running so we leave you feeling confident for us to go ahead and get you back on the road.
If you’re not sure if you need a diagnostic test, you can always book a free visual inspection and we can advise you on the best course of action. Please give us a call for more information.
